Big Bucks and Small Game: Wisconsin Whitetail Deer | S1E10 | MeatEater
Steven Rinella heads to Wisconsin to spend a few days on his buddy’s historical family farm to hunt small game and whitetails in the famed Driftless area. There’s plenty of action and wild game meals like Butterfly Venison Steaks and rabbit stew. Check out the MeatEater Podcast for more from Steve and the MeatEater Crew. I’m from Pennsylvania where we have strict antler restrictions. That buck would have been legal but most would have passed on it
The hunting show
Literally the best
Only in the USA baby
Steven is the best on this show for sure
Amen indeed
The contrast in animal selection is interesting between USA and Europe, over here we shoot the smaller bucks with poor heads and body to let the big bucks breed and to also reduce the thrashing of sapling trees, 1 big buck will cause less damage than 3 small bucks trying to establish their territory
Steven Rinella is good.
Best hunting show ever made. No fences. Public land, private land, any land. Shows his mistakes, and he does not waste the animal. A true conservationist. Good job Steven!
Should definitely do a Wisconsin public land hunt…might lose a crew member or two, though! 😂
Why so much marinade ? No seriously 🤷🏻♂️
Doug is my spirit animal
I’ve had tenderloin from my doe at age 13,49 now,but yeah,my dear was only dead for about 3 or 4 minutes and had the loins out, dressed it,meanwhile told mom, start the process of cooking loins, she got it ready, and it had only been dead hald hour at the most, and wow,so good
Every good hunter that I have ever met knows how to cook
I saw a clipnof someone loading the butt end of a Nylon 66. Looked like an Apache. Best 22 semi ever made IMO. Love those guns.
Mooching about, we used those terms as teenagers on the Farm in wet Wales, Great Britain. Love your channel MeatEater.
yo how is that a sombrero buck i thought he was talking about like a 4 point maybe a 6 where is 8 immature
Steve I’ve never seen you so happy on a hunt 🤣
Hey man appreciate y’all learn every time
Black Nylon 66
In the intro the beginning of the drums sounds a lot like Disturbed Down With The Sickness
Rabbit is so good too
Great safety awareness having the whole crew with some hunter orange on. Good on ya Doug.
❤️🤟🔥

You got to have some Buck management also on your property because too many Buck is not a good thing. That size Buck is the perfect size to eat
Man im siting here watchin this and the squirrel call brought in 3 squirrels from my front yard
Hasenpfeffer means rabbit pepper not hair pepper but anyways great show and one of the reasons why i want to make my hunting licence
I watched Randy Newberg for a long time, until the roadhunting dips***s took over. I think MeatEater and Rinella has become my favorite.
I watched a couple episodes of Gritty with Brian Call. First episode I watched, some blonde jackass is shooting at a mulie at 600 yards. Wounded him badly, and he suffered for what I assume was close to 5 minutes, hard to tell with editing, so **** that show too.
Quality hunting shows are getting few and far between.
My dad calls you his hero
So you have one rule in the community that everyone is aware of and is very conscious about not breaking when hunting.. & first thing you do is shoot the first thing you see. Glad to see those rules are really working for ya. If your land is famous for producing big bucks, why shoot that puny fucking thing. HEATHENS PRAY IN PULIC YALL.
Driving Big Woods in Vermont how I grew up deer hunting and I mean big ones 35 45 acre Parcels at a time that’s just one family two Shooters and four pushers
My dad is from Wisconsin and we hunt at are farm. Were big fans of this episode.
He lost me when adding cookies to the dish hahaha
I can’t stop watching meateater.
I love this show
Does he use a 30-ot 6?
With what caliber do you shoot
What shot do you use for squirrel? And could you do a tutorial on how you do your cuts on venison, in particular Whitetail? I can never cut steaks like that, I always end up with a bunch of uneven cuts
I hope you try this on state land .
So cool
STeve is an amazing cook
6:02 who the fuck put the mic on Steve’s goddamn shoe

The Red Mill at the Basin Harbor Golf Resort in Vermont has the best rabbit stew on the planet
The greatest quality a man can have is humility, my old man said that
