I have put together this RDR2 bird hunting guide to help anyone out there struggling to collect the birds they need for the “Duchesses and Other Animals” mission or just general supply collection for items such as animal fat, flight feathers, duck feathers, bird plumes and etc. Follow this guide to increase spawn rates, and decrease the hours and hours usually spent hunting around the map looking for birds!

Lancaster or Vermit rifle for a large number of ducks
Not sure if you’ll respond since this is kinda old. But does the level of the birds matter when collecting feathers for the trapper? Does a bird have to be perfect and a perfect kill for the feathers to count? Or bad quality still can be used for trapper?

I love hunting in this game but it really annoyes how inconsistent the quality of the kills are. Like the small arrows fukn suck. I’ll headshot a rabbit and itll just get back up and walk away like I didn’t just shoot an arrow through its face and also the pelt is now ruined. I’ll headshot a bird with the same arrow and it’ll will drop in quality. Same with the varmint rifle. It’s a shame that gun won’t kill anything other than snakes or something cuz the gunshot is so sexy tho. It would acc be my favourite rifle but there’s no point in carrying it cuz it don’t kill shit. I had to check up charts and shit because I would think a fox is small and the varmint rifle won’t kill it even with a headshot. This game would definitely be my favourite if not for all the things in this game that are super fucking annoying.

If you just want some flight feathers kill an animal skin it and Ravens and Hawks should come flying in to the remains scavenge just kill them with a varmit rifle

Yo RedNitrate this method really helped me find my egrets for the exotics and I thank you for that sir. You got any tips on getting the god damn rio grande turkey to spawn? Been looking for this fucking bird for about three days now with no luck. Also, been on the hunt for the Western bull moose and it seems I can’t even get a regular western moose to spawn. :/ Did they fix rare spawn rates? didn’t seem to have this problem playing as Arthur as I’d previously killed a couple just didn’t study the animal. Any help would be appreciated tyty

What’s up with the men always getting a big beard on Arthur or John in RDR2. Maybe it’s just us girls but sweetie we don’t find it attractive. I know the men are like Biggest beard wins. I’m sorry but it’s gross. 😂 We dont like hair in our mouth when we show you boys love.
